Vocational Training with Computer Techniques
Duration: Three months
Led by teacher Mehatab Alam from Bhubaneswar, our tailoring training program equipped 15 girls with various fashion design techniques, including a Princess cut blouse, Boat neck princess cutting blouse, Sarara pant, and more. It was conducted over two weekends for full-day intense workshops. The comprehensive skills learned during this program have not only enriched the students’ abilities but also ignited their aspirations to improve their living standards through practical application.
Vocational Training with Computer Techniques

Facilitated by Usha Mohanty and Bhabani Dey, our computer training program empowered 10 girls with essential skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet usage, and more. These two hours long workshops were conducted over two weekends. Since a computer teacher primarily runs the center he could continue to reinforce the lessons later. The dedication and expertise of our trainers were deeply appreciated by all the students, elevating their potential for employment and self-sufficiency to new heights.
Vocational Training with Beautician Techniques
Duration: December 1st, 2023, to February 29th, 2024
Smartphones, social media, and selfies have become inseparable companions in today’s digital age. Despite their drawbacks, they play a significant role in building confidence. Self-grooming plays a key role in building self-esteem. Our beauty parlor course, spanning from December 1st, 2023, to February 29th, 2024, equipped 10 students with a diverse range of skills, including manicures, pedicures, facial treatments, makeup application, and more. These four hours long classes ran four weekends. Beyond imparting valuable skills, this comprehensive training instilled confidence in these students, empowering them for future self-employment opportunities.
Scholarship Initiative:
In today’s technologically-driven world, rural locations and financial difficulties should not hinder access to opportunities. SASI’s provision of 20,000/- rupees each to four deserving female students marked a significant milestone in their educational journey. Nilima Dalei, Sunanda Nayak, Banita Sahoo, and Manisha Pradhan’s aspirations for higher education were made possible by SASI’s generosity. Educating girls always has a multi-fold benefit of educating further generations. This underscores our belief that with the right support and resources, individuals from all backgrounds can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society, regardless of their circumstances.
Tailoring Machine Distribution:
Through collaboration with the SASI Foundation, we distributed tailoring machines to 24 female students, ushering in a new era of self-sufficiency and independence. This initiative has transformed these students into pillars of strength within their households, contributing positively to their family’s income while fostering a sense of empowerment.
Smart TV Acquisition:
The acquisition of a Smart TV, made possible by SASI’s grant of 22,000/-, revolutionized the smart computer classes at the center. Sunil, who runs the center, believes that this technological addition has significantly enhanced their students’ learning experience, which was beyond his expectations. He is committed to repaying the borrowed amount in monthly installments, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for SASI’s unwavering support and cooperation.
In closing, from the initiatives taken during 2023, we are hopeful that all these resources, both soft and hard, will empower the center and its students. We sincerely hope our small initiatives not only offer personal growth but also provide avenues for economic stability and prosperity within their households.
